Theft occurred in back yard

Tools estimated to be worth $3,800 were stolen from a backyard on Bonita Avenue overnight on Jan. 30 or 31, Piedmont police said. The victim said two jackhammers and other tools were taken between 5 p.m. on Jan. 30 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 31. There is no information on a suspect or suspects at this time according to Piedmont Police Capt. Chris Monahan.


A red 2004 Toyota Tundra was reported stolen on Seaview Avenue on Jan. 31. The victim reported that he parked the vehicle and left the window down and the keys inside. He returned at 9 a.m. and found it gone.


On Feb. 1, a report came in at 12:09 a.m. about two unidentified people inside the Piedmont Corporation Yard on Red Rock Road. Piedmont police found two juveniles climbing a fence. According to the police log, police had the two at gunpoint across the fence. The two were detained and released to their parents, according to Monahan. The police log said that one of the juveniles had cuts on their hand.


Two vehicles were reported broken into on Feb. 2. The first report came in at 8:19 a.m. on Monticello Avenue. A rear passenger side window was smashed and ski gear worth $1,000 was taken. The second call came at 9:46 a.m. on Estrella Avenue. A rear window was smashed and a toolbox was taken. Monahan said the Department is doing follow up to search for a suspect or a suspect vehicle.
