Piedmont High School’s boys basketball team rode a strong fourth quarter to a 61-52 win at Berkeley on Feb. 6. The Highlanders are now 16-8 on the season, 4-4 in West Alameda County Conference Foothill Division play.

Dillon Casey had 26 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals to lead Piedmont. Beach Lorin had 19 points. Donte Joseph led the Yellowjackets with 14 points. Kavi Jivan had 13.

The Highlanders held a 45-43 lead entering the fourth quarter. But they came up big defensively in the final period, holding Berkeley to nine points. Meantime, Lorin scored six of his points and Casey had five.

Piedmont had lost at home to the Yellowjackets, 63-56 back on Jan. 15.

The Highlanders next play Feb. 11 at home against Alameda. They then close the regular season on Feb. 13 at Castro Valley.
