The city said on Friday that it still has no opening date for the community pool, and that it plans to host a listening session and Q&A for the community with city leadership in the coming weeks. The date and time of the meeting has not yet been set.

The city also pledged to improve transparency and provide at least monthly status reports, with the next one to come by Feb. 16.
In its January project status update, the city said that:

In the meantime, the city says, the pool continues to move through a “functional” testing phase:
Since the last project update in November, isolated system testing has been completed and the commissioning process has moved into its last phase – a period of integrated, or “functional” system testing. During functional testing, all systems are run together and monitored over an extended period of time. The goal of this process is to achieve a steady state of operation, ensuring that when City assumes responsibility for the facility, it will reliably, consistently perform as intended.
The commissioning process is not always linear. When testing identifies gaps, the steps needed to address the issue can range from simple software calibration to hardware modifications. After these steps are taken, the system must then be re-tested and validated, and the cycle begins again. Each cycle of calibration, adjustments, and testing involves monitoring across multi-day datasets.
Identifying and resolving issues during commissioning is a normal and expected part of the process, and is essential to ensuring the facility is ready to serve the community safely and reliably from day one.
