Equipment problems slow pool commissioning process

City of Piedmont

Aquatics staff training on the pool timing system on Dec. 1, 2025

The city said on Tuesday that there were no significant changes to report on the pool since their November 6 update and an opening date has not yet been set. The pool is still going through its commissioning process — that includes testing of the heating system, which must be completed before more integrated system testing.

The city said in early November that three actuators (mixing values) had been identified as inoperable and in need of replacement. The actuators have now been replaced and are fully operational, Communications Manager Echa Schneider said in an email Tuesday. “As we continue to move through heating system testing, additional components have been identified that need repair – and we are working through those repairs now.”

The city provided photos of Aquatics staff working through system training on the systems that aren’t tied into the commissioning process such as training on the timing and scoreboard system.
