Girls tennis | Piedmont girls tennis closes season in sectionals

Three Piedmont High School girls tennis players finished their season off on November 17 in the singles and doubles brackets of the North Coast Section Division 2 tennis championships.

Ella Ruthven made the singles bracket and lost in her opening match to Lyla Hogan of Justin- Siena-Napa, 6-4, 6-2. San Francisco University High School’s Pipere Lim won the individual title with a 6-0, 7-5 win over Lick-Wilmerding-San Francisco’s Kira Iltchev.

Emma Chan and Samantha Huynh made the doubles bracket. They also dropped their opening match, falling to Jane and Ann McDermott of Marin Academy, 6-1, 6-2.

The Highlanders team fell to Northgate in the NCS Division 1 team bracket on Nov. 11.
