The Piedmont Adult Recreation Expo brought together residents and community organizations last Sunday, offering interested parties an opportunity to browse recreation options and speak directly with organizers from more than two dozen programs and classes offered through the Piedmont Recreation Department, Piedmont Adult School, the Piedmont Center for the Arts, and other local programming providers, all under a single roof.
Veterans Hall was buzzing for a few hours in the afternoon as people popped in to Veterans Hall to sign up for classes or to chat with event organizers and volunteers Lisa Gardner and Dick Carter. Gardner is a current Recreation Commission member; Carter’s term as a commissioner ended earlier this year.
