A pair of stolen Hondas were recovered on Oct. 26 in Piedmont.
First, a gray Honda CRV was seen by Piedmont Police driving with a “fictitious” license plate in the area of Piedmont Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard at 6:53 a.m., according to Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan. He said police attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle fled. At approximately 1:25 p.m., the same officer found the vehicle parked an unoccupied on Richmond Boulevard. A VIN check showed that it had been reported stolen out of Alameda. The vehicle was towed for the registered owner.
At 11:14 a.m., police found a gray Honda Accord parked in the area of Fairmount and Santa Clara avenues. A VIN check showed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Oakland. The vehicle was towed.
On Oct. 29, a white Honda Odyssey van was reportedly ransacked on Dudley Avenue. The victim reported a pair of sunglasses stolen.
At 3:41 a.m. on Oct. 26, an unoccupied 2013 BMW 3-series was reported to be broken into on Harvard Road. An unknown suspect broke in by smashing the front passenger side window, according to Captain Monahan. The registered owner’s daughter later called and said the owner was out of town, according to the police log. No loss is known at this time, according to Captain Monahan.
