City encourages input around Piedmont Safer Streets plan

Residents could mark and comment on areas of concern on this pinnable map of Piedmont streets.

Getting around Piedmont should be safe for everyone. To improve conditions on our streets, the City of Piedmont is preparing the Piedmont Safer Streets (PSS) plan. This will update the City’s original Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan (2014), with an additional focus on broader traffic safety. Starting today and into next month, there are three special opportunities to provide your input on safety needs and concerns:

  • Digital Community Workshop. The City encourages all Piedmonters to participate so that we can achieve the best possible outcomes. This Zoom workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, December 9, 2020, starting at 6 p.m. Save the date! The workshop will review progress made since 2014 and will include a lively community discussion on future directions. Workshop details will be posted HERE as the date approaches.
  • Click here for an Online Survey. This brief survey has been created to hear Piedmonters’ opinions on key questions concerning walking, biking, and traffic safety. Everyone who responds will be eligible to win one of three $50 gift cards for Mulberry’s Market.
  • Visit our Pinnable Map page HERE. Piedmonters can post location-specific comments about walking, biking, and traffic safety, or even post your cool ideas and suggestions for improving street conditions. This is yet another opportunity to win a Mulberry’s Market gift card!

Deadline for all public comments is Sunday, December 20, 2020. To find out more and to give your input, visit www.PiedmontSaferStreets.org. For questions, contact Associate Planner Gopika Nair at (510) 420-3054 or at SaferStreets@Piedmont.ca.gov

  1. As a senior, I walk over an hour a day at various times.
The biggest problem in Piedmont is the lack of traffic enforcements and the rudeness of preteens and teens.
