A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck just over a mile southeast of Berkeley early Monday morning, the United States Geological Survey said.
The quake hit at 2:56 a.m. at a depth of more than 4 miles, according to the USGS. The tremor was reportedly felt across the Bay Area.
The shaking was felt across Piedmont, but no damage was reported. The Hayward Fault runs along Highway 13, which is close to Piedmont’s eastern boundary.
