After granting a record-breaking $4.1M this year, the Piedmont Education Fund kicked off its 2025-26 Giving Campaign last Tuesday with a goal of raising $5M for district schools. In line with past year, over ninety percent of the money raised will go to district teachers salaries. The link to donate is now live on PEF’s website and those who give before Nov. 1 will receive a purple sign of appreciation for their front yard.
“Catie and I agreed to chair the Giving Campaign for the third year in a row for a few reasons,” says co-chair Kim Hunter. “It’s because we truly believe in our schools and we want everyone to be as passionate as we are about supporting them.” Adds co-chair Catie Osborn, “Also, it’s PEF’s 50th anniversary, and we’re really excited to be a part of this legacy. With everything that’s happening in the world, it’s amazing to do something where we can all come together and make a difference for our kids”
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of PEF. In 1975 a small group of Piedmont citizens got together because they wanted to enact improvements to our schools. Fifty years later, community efforts have made Piedmont Unified School District the highest-ranking public school district in Northern California according to CAASPP scores.
“We are so grateful for all this community does to support the bedrock of Piedmont, our schools,” said Bridget Schreiber, chair of the PEF Board, “Every little bit counts and helps ensure our teachers and staff have the resources they need to help our kids thrive.”
Last year, 61% of PUSD families contributed to the Giving Campaign. PEF’s ultimate goal is to not only fill the gap between what Piedmont schools receive from state and local taxes and the cost to educate each student, but to reach 100% participation among Piedmont families and the entire community.
