The Piedmont Education Foundation (PEF) proudly presented a record-breaking check for $4,116,427 to the Piedmont Unified School District (PUSD) school board on Wednesday, September 10. This extraordinary grant is the largest in PEF’s history and reflects a full year of community-powered fundraising through the Giving Campaign and other programs, such as Spring Fling, Harvest Festival, Dress Best for Less, business sponsorships, and a distribution from the PEF Endowment Fund.
“This incredible achievement is only possible because of the generosity of our community,” said Catie Osborn, co-chair of The Giving Campaign. “Our donors make it clear, year after year, that supporting our schools is a shared priority.” Co-chair Kim Hunter added, “We’re especially proud that 94% of this grant directly funds the people who make Piedmont schools exceptional: our classroom teachers, librarians, paraeducators, classroom aides, intervention specialists, technology coordinators, counselors, nurses, psychologists, athletics staff, and special education professionals.”
The impact of that support stretches back decades. “PEF was founded 50 years ago by parents and neighbors who believed that strong schools are the heart of our community,” said Bridget Schreiber, PEF Board Chair. “Half a century later, we are still building on that legacy, and this grant is a powerful example of what we can accomplish together.”
That spirit of celebration continues this fall. The 2025–26 Giving Campaign launches on Tuesday, September 16. PEF’s Board of Directors and the PUSD School Board are vying to see who will reach 100% Giving Campaign participation first this year. Every gift brings Piedmont schools one step closer to the resources they need.
