From therapy sessions to healthy snacks, the PUSD Wellness Center plays a vital role in student well-being. This year’s fundraiser will help ensure these services remain free and accessible for Piedmont middle and high school students.

The Piedmont Unified School District (PUSD) Wellness Center has officially launched its 2025 fundraising campaign, aiming to raise $50,000 to continue providing essential mental health services to Piedmont’s middle and high school students.

This year’s campaign is off to a strong start thanks to lead donors Tom Snyder and Anne Bisagno, who opened the campaign with a generous $10,000 contribution. Their early support sets the tone for a community-wide effort to ensure the PUSD Wellness Center can maintain its current level of care.

The Wellness Center is a vital resource for Piedmont High School, Millennium High School, and Piedmont Middle School students, offering therapeutic support for challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, grief, conflicts, and substance use concerns.

During the 2024–2025 school year, 1 in 3 students at Piedmont and Millennium High Schools and 1 in 4 at Piedmont Middle School visited the Wellness Center (WC). Last school year, WC therapists provided more than 2,000 therapy sessions, while over 150 students received ongoing, individualized support. The Center also offered more than 3,500 healthy snacks to students, provided practitioner training led by top mental health experts, and remained a trusted place for both scheduled and drop-in care.

“The availability of a free, on-campus Wellness Center is an essential resource for our students,” said School Board President Lindsay Thomasson. “It removes significant barriers to accessing mental health care, including the difficulty of finding an available provider, scheduling appointments, and managing out-of-pocket expenses. I am grateful that we are able to provide this valuable service, and for the community support that makes it possible.”

The Wellness Center operates on a minimal budget, with community donations funding critical staff stipends, program supplies, and student support activities. Every contribution, large or small, helps support this safe space for Piedmont students to seek support and build resilience.

Major corporate donors to the 2025 PUSD Wellness Center fundraising campaign thus far include Elfster and Hillside View Orthodontics. Aspen Grove Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine, Piedmont Pediatric Dentistry, and Revive Health Therapy have also given in support of the Center.

Individual donors who give $500 or more by Oct. 1 will receive an invitation for two to a Wellness Center Sponsor Reception at a private home in Piedmont on Oct. 9, 2025, featuring a moderated panel of teen mental health experts. Major donors at levels above $1,000 will have their name added to the gratitude wall in the Wellness Center at Piedmont High School.
