On June 29 at approximately 2 p.m., a theft of jewelry was reported on Pacific Avenue. The victim said she discovered the theft on June 25 and requested a police report. She valued the items at approximately $800. Captain Monahan said the victim identified a potential suspect and the Police Department is following up.

On July 1 at 2:19 a.m., a residential burglary on Scenic Avenue took place. The homeowners were out of town but reported that a surveillance camera recorded an individual inside the residence allegedly looking for items to steal. A generator and an electric disc sander were reported stolen with an unknown total value. Captain Monahan said Flock cameras found a white Chevrolet S-10 truck with a black tailgate in the area.

On July 2, police observed a black 2013 BMW X5 speeding on Park Boulevard at approximately 11:04 p.m. The officer estimated the vehicle was going 60 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone, Captain Monahan said. He said when the officer made a U-turn to attempt to pull the vehicle over, the driver sped up to an estimated 85 mph.

The officer eventually found the vehicle parked on Estates Drive. Captain Monahan said no driver was found on the scene, but after the registered owner was contacted, he later admitted he was the driver and he was scared, Captain Monahan said. A records check showed the owner had a suspended license. He was cited and released for driving on a suspended license and reckless driving.

The ACE Hardware on Grand Avenue was reported burglarized at 4:28 a.m. on July 4. One of the vehicles was a stolen Lexus, according to Captain Monahan, and the other was an unknown gray sedan.
