Concrete has been poured; the detours are gone — and the full improvements are expected to be completed in August.
The new bulb-outs at the intersections of Greenbank and Linda are coming along — concrete for the first group was poured last Saturday, and for the 4th ramp on Monday.
While there is currently temporary asphalt, both crosswalks have been re-opened for pedestrian traffic, and the detours are gone. This is still an interim state, however – the full improvements, with the push buttons and flashing beacons, are expected to be completed in August.
Coming up: work will shift to the intersection of Grand and Fairview avenues, where the City’s first “green infrastructure” bioswale will be located. This portion of the project includes the installation of a new storm drain and the relocation of a sewer line which will necessitate partial road closures on Grand Avenue at that time.
