Unknown suspect reportedly took $2,400 worth of tools
An unknown man reportedly took $2,400 worth of tools from a construction site on Wildwood Avenue on June 5.
The suspect was described as an hispanic male, about 5-foot-7, 140 pounds with black hair, according to Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan. He said the suspect was seen walking off of the property around 6:45 a.m. and that a suspect vehicle was a white Chevrolet S-10 with blue rims, black tailgate with red tape or paint around the back window. The police log said it had no license plate.
On June 1, a white Nissan Altima was seen on Grand Avenue at 2:25 a.m. traveling at a high rate of speed, according to Captain Monahan. Police followed the vehicle and reported it was weaving in and out of the late and occupied the bicycle lane multiple times. It also made contact with the curb on the passenger side.
The vehicle was pulled over on Pleasant Valley Avenue in Oakland. Captain Monahan said the driver smelled of alcohol and declined both a field sobriety test and a preliminary alcohol screening. He said the driver initially denied drinking alcohol, and later said he had a drink in the afternoon. The driver was arrested for DUI and taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
On June 6, a white 2012 Toyota Tundra was reported stolen from Linda Avenue. The owner said he parked it at approximately 2 p.m. on June 4 and discovered it was gone at 8:55 a.m. on June 5. The owner reported the value of the vehicle at $15,000.
A white 2022 Acura MDX was reported stolen from Estrella Avenue on June 5. The owner reported they had not driven the vehicle since June 3. The vehicle was found in Oakland and returned to the owner.
