Two incidents of theft were called into Piedmont Police on May 5.
The first report was from a vehicle parked on Lexford Road. The incident happened between 11-11:46 a.m. According to Piedmont Police Captain Chris Monahan, a chainsaw worth approximately $600 along with three tool batteries worth approximately $750 were taken. Two chargers worth approximately $300 and a tool box with another $300 of miscellaneous tools were also taken.
No other information was available.
Around the same time, an auto burglary reportedly took place on Selborne Drive. Between 10:20 a.m.-12 noon, a vehicle was broken into. Approximately $800 worth of tools was taken, according to Captain Monahan, and approximately $1,000 of damage was done to the rear door lock.
On May 7, a gray 2024 Lexus ES350 was reported stolen on Sunnyside Avenue. The vehicle was taken between midnight – 12:42 a.m. The victim reported that they all keys were accounted for, according to Captain Monahan.
Around 8:45 p.m., on May 4, a vehicle was reported to be involved in a single-car accident at Grand and Rose avenues. Police found a 1963 Plymouth Valiant on the center divider. The vehicle had front end damage and no driver was found at the scene, according to Captain Monahan.
The registered owner was contacted and, according to Captain Monahan, admitted to being the driver. They were cited for hit-and-run.
