Who’s that Good Dog?

Ziggy along for the ride with Jude

Family: Melissa, Eric, Amelia, and Jude Oldrin

Pet: Ziggy

Age: 4 years old

Breed: Goldendoodle

Adoption story: With two cats, a leopard gecko and many fish, we decided we needed a dog to round out our little zoo. We adopted Ziggy from a family in the Midwest. He arrived on a flight full of puppies. We often wonder what the ride must have been like for him at such a young age.

Likes: Ziggy likes off-leash walks through Piedmont Park, which he gets to do just about every day. He has a sweet tooth and loves pup cups from the ice cream trucks. He looks forward to kid pick-up car rides when he gets to see his young humans after their school day. He loves bossing around his cat sister and cat brother, and pridefully lets his humans know when the cats “break the rules.” He loves when all of his humans are around. He lets us know when he’s especially happy by grabbing a toy or shoe and zooming around the house with it!

Dislikes: Ziggy does not like to be alone. Ever. He goes with his humans to all the places — vacations, shopping trips, Halloween parties, and long road trips. This is challenging for his humans, but we work it out. He does not like the smell of coffee and detests having his paws touched. He also dislikes mail carriers and Amazon deliveries … such a cliché!

Interesting facts: Ziggy can open doors and his talent in this department has even set off burglar alarms — triggering neighborhood pandemonium. Don’t worry — his humans have figured out how to manage this quirk. Ziggy is very trainable and knows lots of words. He can bring his toys to his humans, find his collar, and high-five like a champ.

Anything Else: Ziggy is a great boy. His humans love this mischievous good boy to the moon and back.
