The League of Women Voters of Piedmont invites community members to our “Meet Your Local League” Open House on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 801 Magnolia Avenue.
This free event offers an opportunity to meet local League leaders and members, learn about the organization’s projects and programs, and discover ways to get involved in fostering informed and active participation in democracy.
The Open House will feature:
* Networking: Connect with like-minded individuals committed to making a difference.
* Program Plans for 2025: Learn about the League’s advocacy efforts, voter education programs, and community engagement activities.
* Volunteer Opportunities: Explore how you can contribute to voter empowerment and civic education.
Light refreshments will be served. This family-friendly event welcomes individuals of all ages who are passionate about civic engagement and strengthening democracy at the local level. “We’re excited to open our doors and engage with the community,” said Anita Stapen of the Program Committee. “This event is a chance for us to celebrate the power of collective action and inspire more people to join us in our mission to create a stronger, more inclusive democracy.”
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization, has been a vital part of the Piedmont community, working to empower voters and advocate for effective public policies for over a century. The Open House will highlight the importance of local engagement in addressing today’s pressing issues.
