Don’t bury this newsworthy concoction.
The perfect balance of sweet and tart, it’s just right for cozy winter gatherings. This is a very simple recipe that calls for Falernum, a rum-based simple syrup with clove seasonings. (Eddie’s Liquors on College carries it — but stay away from the non-alcoholic variation that I’ve seen around which has lots of faux flavorings.)
ingredients
- 1.5 oz bourbon
- 1 oz fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 1 oz FalernumÂ
- Orange bitters, dash
- Twist of lemon
- Optional half dozen or so pomegranate seeds for holiday color
directions
- Combine bourbon, lemon juice and Falernum in shaker with ice
- Shake and pour over ice
- Add dash of bitters, lemon twist (and pomegranate seeds if using)
