The 23rd annual Piedmont Turkey Trot will once again wind its way through town on a USA Track & Field certified 5K course on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 28.

Tickets are $54 for adults; $33 for youth. You can register now HERE.

The race has something for everyone: The fastest runner finished in 15:30 last year and wandering walkers crossed the line about 75 minutes later. Weekend warriors, joggers, four-legged runners (with their humans) and parents pushing strollers filled the gap in between.

This year’s coveted shirt comes in Piedmont Purple, a color not seen for almost a decade. Doggie bandanas are once again available in a complementary shade of pumpkin.

New this year: A “Tiny Tot Trot” at the newly remodeled Witter Field at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27. The Tiny Trot is designed for kids 3 – 6 years old, who will be running one lap around the track. The race starts at 4:15 p.m.; waivers will be signed at the field. This is a free event for some of our littlest neighbors who might not have the whole 5k in them just yet.

Want to cheer on your neighbors without breaking a sweat? Sign up to be a course monitor and receive one a stylish shirt. Contact Sydney Proctor: 510-333-4344 or sydneyproctor66@gmail.com

Proceeds from this year’s race will benefit PHS Track & Field, PHS XC, PHS/PMS Athletic Boosters, Piedmont’s Jr Running Club (elementary age runners) and Run Better Oakland.
