Teachers rally in support of Measure P

PUSD teachers wore purple and carried signs in support of Measure P on the sidewalks outside of their school sites on Tuesday morning.

Measure P, the parcel tax to fund Piedmont schools, is on the Nov. 5 ballot. (Editor’s note: Don’t overlook it — it’s on the back of the last page.)

Measure P will increase and extend the existing parcel tax (Measure H) allowing Piedmont schools to attract and retain teachers and educational staff. The measure’s passage is key to staving off more cuts to PUSD’s budget in the coming years. If P passes, PUSD teachers will receive a 4.5% salary increase. If it doesn’t pass, more budget cuts will be necessary.
