Near Highland and Wildwood avenues, police found the vehicle had hit a fire hydrant, Captain Monahan said. The driver was checked medically. Then, according to Captain Monahan, police requested that the driver take a field sobriety test and they “performed poorly.” Preliminary alcohol screenings produced results of 0.068 and 0.080 percent. The driver was unlicensed and under the age of 21, Captain Monahan said. They were placed under arrest for being under the influence of alcohol and being unlicensed.

When the person arrived home, “the male driving the truck stopped the truck next to the reporting person’s vehicle and stared at the reporting person,” according to Captain Monahan.

The male in the truck then parked the vehicle two houses down.

Police came and contacted the driver of the truck, who was “slumped over” and possibly asleep, according to Captain Monahan. The male was taken out of the vehicle. He had watery eyes and an unsteady gait, according to Captain Monahan. The driver was unable to complete field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. He was taken to Santa Rita Jail.
