Measure P, the parcel tax to fund Piedmont schools, is on the Nov. 5 ballot. Volunteers behind the effort to get it passed are holding an official kick-off on Sept. 21 at Mulberry’s Market from 8 – 10 a.m.
Measure P will increase and extend the existing parcel tax (Measure H) allowing Piedmont schools to attract and retain teachers and educational staff. The measure’s passage is key to staving off more cuts to PUSD’s budget in the coming years.
According to the campaign’s website, money raised by Measure P will also go toward providing advanced educational programs that help students get into college, advanced programs in science, technology, engineering, art, and math, and academic intervention for children who need additional support.
