Letter to the Editor | Why I withdrew from the school board race

Thank you to all my supporters who encouraged me to run for a PUSD Board seat in the upcoming election. I have a great interest in the continued excellence of PUSD, and as an educator, parent, and resident of this wonderful city, I know that I would add an important perspective to the issues facing our schools. However, after much consideration, I have decided that this is not the right time for me to serve on the PUSD School Board.

Unfortunately, I have been informed by the city clerk that it is not possible to remove my name from the ballot. In light of that fact, I am endorsing the candidacies of Susy Struble, Michael Malione and Max Roman and am encouraging others to support them, too. They each have unique strengths, perspectives, and a strong desire to promote PUSD’s mission, and I believe PUSD will continue to thrive with them at the helm.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
