PUSD’s Wellness Center delivers free counseling and mental health services to Piedmont High School, Middle School, and Millennium High School students. It helps many of our kids manage emotional and social challenges, including stress, depression, grief, relationship conflicts, and substance use concerns.
To raise the funds the PUSD Wellness Center needs to continue providing this level of support to students, the parent-run Wellness Center Support Committee is organizing a pickleball tournament. There will be three divisions of play (Beginner, Intermediate and Competitive), and every team is guaranteed one hour of play on Saturday, September 21. All matches will be held at Piedmont Middle School’s pickleball courts.
Beginners will play from 9-10 on Saturday and have coaching available to help with rules, scoring and gameplay; the first ten players (5 teams) to register in the Beginner division will receive a free Selkirk SLK Nexus Paddle (value $39.99) from Montclair Sports Tennis and Pickleball.
Teams in the Intermediate division will play each other between 10-12; winners from these round robins will then battle it out in a single elimination tournament around noon. Our Advanced division will feature our top teams playing each other from 1:00 on for the crown. Tournament prizes include gift certificates from Mulberry’s Market and Yellow Door.
Please join us for the first annual Positively Pickled Tournament to support our PUSD Wellness center.
Team registration is $100. During the last school year, the Wellness Center provided over 2,000 therapy sessions to Piedmont students; this fundraising effort helps ensure that Piedmont students continue to receive the mental health support they need. Registration is open through September 12; more information is available at https://pef.schoolauction.net/wow24/register/ticket_sales
