Voters dropped ballots off by foot and by car in the ballot box on Highland Way in Piedmont in the March 2024 election.

After extending the filing deadline for Piedmont’s Board of Education to August 14, four candidates for three open seats qualified for the November ballot on Wednesday. The candidates are: Michael Malione, Susy Struble, Victoria Rosenbaum, and Max Roman. You can read their candidate statements on the city’s website HERE.

At Wednesday night’s Board of Education meeting, board member Cory Smegal said that “some” of the candidates who had filed to run had received an anonymous, threatening letter telling them to drop out of the race. “This is not Piedmont, not our community,” Smegal said. Piedmont police on Friday said they had no information on the incident.

The City Council candidate slate is also set and you can read their statements on the city’s website . Lorrel Plimier, Conna McCarthy (incumbent), James Green, and Sunny Bostrom are vying for two spots on the council.

The Exedra will publish Q&As with each candidate in the coming weeks.
