Construction mishap on Magnolia Avenue causes temporary road closure

Piedmont High School social media

Magnolia Avenue was closed for a few hours on Tuesday while construction crews and the city worked to right an excavator that toppled over in front of Piedmont High School, damaging part of a low concrete wall along the school’s entryway. A social media post from the school indicated no one was hurt and by late afternoon the scene was cleared and what appeared to be a metal plate was covering the cracked part of the wall.

The incident took place at the entrance of the community pool construction worksite.

The Exedra has reached out to the city for more information about the cause of the accident.
