Two years ago I was lucky enough to take a trip to Copenhagen with my family. My kids marveled at the fast, clean train that transported us from the airport to the center of town. The kids asked why the train was so much nicer than the ones at home. My answer? Taxes!
If we want well-functioning urban infrastructure and services, we must pitch in as a community, state, and country, and invest in them.
