Deep Tones Ensemble Perform Latin Dances & French Comedies | Classical Winds Concert

Deep Tones, a woodwind ensemble plus piano, makes its debut with Latin Dances and French Comedies, a juxtaposition of soulful Latin groove with French wit and nostalgia.
The inaugural concert includes Arturo Rodriguez on flute, Marcus Phillips on oboe, Medina, clarinet, Cathleen Torres, horn, Kika Wright, bassoon, and guest artist Allison Lovejoy on piano.
THE PROGRAM:
The woodwind quintet music of Medaglia’s Suite Popular Brasileira, Astor Piazzolla’s Liber Tango arranged by Jeffery Scott; selections from Darius Milhaud’s La Chemineé Du Roi Rene, selections from Paquito D’Rivera’s Aires Tropicales for Woodwind Quintet. and Poulenc’s Sextour for Piano and Wind Quintet joined by pianist Allison Lovejoy.

Deep Tones aims to reinvigorate the classical music scene by showcasing wind chamber music, performing music from the woodwind duo, trio, quartet and quintet music repertoire. Selections ranges from traditional favorites to lesser known quintet music to newly commissioned work from underrepresented composers. Its musicians are outstanding young performers inspired by a shared commitment to connect with a diverse group of listeners, and to create opportunities for underrepresented composers and their love of chamber music.
